    Re: 66 brake line routing/connection

At the risk of beating this to death. The the angle of the green clip on my car suggests that the brake line running from the rear to the front block was secured here. It would not make any sense for the mc line to be secured here as it wouldn't line up properly.
I haven't altered the angle of that clip and there's no evidence that there was a 2nd clip in that area on my car. So I figure it can only be for that longer line. Quite different from what I've seen in other diagrams but as mentioned it must have changed at some point. Again this car is an Apr 20th build date.
The pre bent brake line out of the box though really makes you wonder what angle they were trying to replicate. Hope I don't snap it!

Thanks for the tip of installing the steering box before the brake line. I was planning on doing it in the opposite order.

Gary, Yes when I took everything off of the old rusted frame I noted the old brake line path and wanted to replicate. It was very tight near the steering box. That's why I installed the box first.

Dan, This car is a March 1st build. Here are a few shots in the bay. And although I don't have a clear picture of the final routing, IIRC only that rear line is held by that one clip. The MC line floats with no clip.

Some photos were right after body lift but 1 shows the MC line in the air with no clip as I recall. On the full old original frame shot, it's hard to see but the clip is there next to and inside the clutch cross bar bracket. On the new frame I had to drill the hole and located it in the same place.

AND.... Just found many more. Attached....
