I have a '65 coupe and am looking for carpeting from the front through the back (including just below the rear window). I have read posts back to 2013 and looked at several companies that were suggested in various posts and am wondering if things have improved as far as availability and quality. From those companies I have found, it appears obtaining floor covering for the front is much easier than for behind the seats. What started off as redoing the interior, rebuilding the engine and replacing necessary parts turned into separating the body from the frame, new paint job, replacing all parts and my wife asking if it will ever get done and when will I quit spending so much money. Appreciate any and all assistance.

Re: 65 Carpeting
Lawrence, Welcome to the Discussion Board. I (and many others) have used Al Knock interior parts for many years. If you are going to be judged, I don't think any current manufacturers are 100% correct. Good luck, Don H.- Top

Re: 65 Carpeting
Lawrence,
Auto Custom Carpets (ACC) and Al Knoch Interiors sell complete carpet sets for your '65. I would contact them both and ask for a sample of their interior carpet and compare them. I have used carpet sets from Al Knoch for two 1965 Corvettes and have been happy with them. The last one was done in 2013.

James West

Re: 65 Carpeting
I used a complete ACC Carpet set and was quite happy with the fitment. My carpet is black which is an easier color to match but some of the other colors are next to impossible to get an original match. If you decide to go with ACC I would recommend you use Rock Auto. Mine was around $250 and came in the same box as if you ordered from one of the regular corvette suppliers. Same company, same product... save yourself some money.

Re: 65 Carpeting
Thanks to everyone who replied.
What installation would you suggest throughout the car?
I am finding 3 products and though the rubber backing appears appealing, it also could cause issues with putting new carpeting down.
Appreciate your comments.- Top
