C2 vent window regulator - rebuild kit (recommendation)

I need to rebuild my vent window regulators (trying to pass PV).
Question...what supplier has the best rebuild kits?
    Thanks in advance, Dan

Agreed. Good results with LIC vent window regulator parts.

Take them apart and look at them prior to ordering $100 worth of rebuild kits, many good dissassembly, rebuild articles out there. Both of mine were basically non functional. Cleaned out old grease, straightened a couple of gear teeth with flat punch and file, relubed and reassembled.....work like new now.

Any experience with the rebuild parts from Corvette America?

I'd be surprised to learn that such a part in relatively small demand is made by several suppliers.

Did you know that Trim Parts supplies the complete assembly? Around $175.00 per side.

Might want to make sure they are CA carried items. A couple of times I ordered from CA using their 15% discount and the items were NIS with a 2 week delay. When they arrived they were repackaged LIC items, they even were still in the LIC package inside the CA packaging.

I received mine already but just wonder if they are the best choice. I'm more into restoring parts than sending things out.

i just did the passenger door in my 67. there seems to be two versions of the pinion in the various rebuild kits. one is like the OEM version which is cast, has the stops and is made out of some very soft pot metal. the other appears to be billet aluminum, has a machined gear and does not have the stops. i don't have much confidence in the cast version and if i do the other regulator i think i'll try the aluminum style. the hardest part of the whole job was getting the locking knob off the door, rebuilding the regulator was fairly easy.

The aluminum style will open too far, good luck.

Is it possible to add/attach something to the billet aluminum gear that would serve as stops, and then pass a PV test?

Do they have the "stops" that others are addressing the need for?

I'll have to look but believe I got the billet aluminum versions that reportedly do not have the stops.
