        So do them as per JG, when it is corrected you can then spray them black.
        You will loose this fight, just follow the JG for now. Easy to change from bare to black, not so black to bare.

          I would leave them.

          The chassis on 63s was painted with a LOT of blackout. While this decreased during the 63-67 years, I would expect them to be black.
          And, it might be 1 point out of 4500 for the finish? Hardly worth the effort when we know black is correct.

              There was a seminar at a National, (Las Vegas maybe) where the chassis restorer definitely said the half shafts in 63 were black despite what the TIMJG says. I believe him.

                My attempt to detail my 63 this month, half shafts and strut rods are black based on old photos...
