I'm in the parts guathering mode for re-installing the original OEM rally wheels that were pulled off my 73 many years ago. When I mentioned this in another post a NCRS member said to make sure I used the correct valve stem.
The TM/JG states on page 96 that the valve stems are black and 1 1/4" long. When looking at various vendors they state their are 1 1/2" long or don't state any length. Would it be safe to assume that the measured TM/JG 1 1/4" doesn't take into account what's inside the wheel and the once the 1 1/2" reproduction stem is installed there is 1 1/4" outside the wheel?
On the subject of wheel weights I'm looking at needing the Micro "winged tipped" wheel weight and the AIM states on UPC 10 that the total amount should not exceed 5 oz. (that's a lot of weight). So if I need to buy correct reproduction or used Micro weights is there a good rule of thumb on what size or how many I should buy?
Valve stem caps and lug nuts are pretty straight forward so no issues with those parts.
Thanks
Dennis
