Alex thanks for the report I have been thinking about a set of these for years. I have a marina blue 67 coupe as well. I see what my car would look like

I agree with your opinion. I recently purchased a set of bolt-on "knock off" wheels for my 66 roadster to go with my Goodyear radials. I love the look. AFC promptly delivered them, and they were easy to install. Great choice!

        HI Alex,
Your car looks GREAT. Especially with that background of todays SUV(Severely Ugly Vehicles) lol

Corvette America vs America's Finest - N89 repro bolt-on wheels

Further to my earlier post, here are photos of brand new Corvette America bolt-on wheels. A friend of mine bought a set recently, complete with redline tires mounted, but hasn't put them on his car yet. These are the wheels I examined before deciding to go with the America's Finest Corvette wheels.

Here's a close up of the fin detail on each brand of wheel.

          America's Finest:
          AFC wheel fin.jpg
(The white staining on the painted portion is surface dust which washed off easily)

To sum up, the CA wheels are very nice. But they use the OEM starburst attachment system which means losing a starburst remains a possibility. There are other subtle differences between the Corvette America and the America's Finest wheels. The AFC wheels have slightly darker paint between the fins, and their machined areas are more highly polished. In comparison, the CA wheels look slightly 'duller' due to the lighter color between the fins and less polished machining. Compare for yourself.

I'm sure anyone would be happy with either the AFC or the CA wheels. Both have the correct thin fins, closely replicating those on the OEM N89 wheels. The only functional difference is the starburst attachment system, which in my view justifies the slightly higher cost for the America's Finest wheels.

Hope this helps anyone considering a new set of repro bolt-on wheels.

As a comparison to your picture, see the picture of my original set of N89 wheels. The difference with the originals is that they have a more rounded appearance to the fin edges rather than a machined look. (Your 67 looks great by the way!)

              Hi Mark,

Thanks for posting the picture of your original N89 wheel. Good to compare against the repro wheels to see the differences, such as the rounded fin edge on the originals.

Of course I'd love to own an original set, but these are now priced out of the range of most hobbyists, including myself.
