Maybe a solution on a rusted/frozen Clutch/Flywheel in Storage

My old classic 1977 Chevy Pick-Up has been known to do the above when in extended storage. In researching
this problem on this discussion board many solutions have been discussed. Patrick Boyd had a nice thread on
this subject a little while ago. Could the following be done?>

Before putting the vehicle in extended storage leave the clutch in the depressed (not engaged)position? You could
do this by putting some type on metal handle/bar on the pedal. Does anybody see any problem with this? Could this do
more harm then good?? Comments Please and Thanks>Larry

Clutch springs could go bad rendering clutch usless

Eeeeeyeah, I don't think I'd leave the clutch pedal depressed for an extended period of time.

It's truly not a big deal to break the clutch loose if it freezes up. I've had to do it several times over the years.
