    c1 hardtop restoration help

I am starting a restoration on a hardtop and have a question, then look for any suggestions anyone would have. The question ison the inside stainless, I have removed all the screws holding the stainless, and they don't move. Before I damage them I need to know what else may be holding them? Thanks for any help.

They snap over the inner supports, so you will need to gently pry them off. Start at the end and get a thin putty knife under and slide sideways. Work one side off at a time and go slow so you don't bend them.

Thanks that is what I thought, but I did not want to damage them.

Ernest did you see this file from Dennis Dorando when he restored his HT? It may help.

PS years ago I bought bags(100's) of the SS & alum HT rivets in anticipation of restoring my HT and others. Never got to it, sold the car.
If you need any I can send some off gratis.

Rich , thanks for the offer I just got the top apart, and I know I need some of those rivets and would be happy to pay. I hope Glassworks is attending Carlisle this year because my list of things is getting longer. Also I did print the file that you referenced. Thanks again Ernie
