Re: 1960 Hardtop window fitment suggestions
Do you have both tops or are you just trying to adjust to fit the hardtop only?
The window tracks and stops are adjustable and as new vertical weatherstrips may be slightly larger than the old aged ones, I would re-adjust the windows to fit the hard top first. Silicon lubricant would be a good choice if it's just a minor problem and it won't hurt the rubber. NAPA has a product called Sly-Glide which works great.- Top

IMG_4607.JPGSome interesting reponces. Thank you. Are these Ru glide and Sly glyde basically the same type product. Respectfully I've never heard or used them. This car is a barn find I rescued and the hardtop only has sat unmounted since 1993 on its nose. After the rear seal and 1/4 windows were replaced among other pieces the fit is quite acceptable. The struggle is to close the door and raise the windows with a lot less effort binding against the hard new edge of the seal. I removed the Reproduction receiver pin mount as it sits up too high vs the lower height 58 style causing the new lower seal not to lay flat. The 1/4 windows slightly bow out probably causing some binding to but there must be some solution to make this procedure work easier.- Top

It's SYL-Glide (typo) in my post. Try that if it's just a minor problem. It's hard to tell from your picture, but is the rear edge of your door glass parallel to the 1/4 window front edge. If not, you can adjust the window to make it so.- Top

Thanks Dan. Door glass edge is virtually parallel to front edge of the new seals on each side and run up each front door post dead center. Going to try some lubricants first and a different smaller profile receiver pin to move the 1/4 windows more inward. We'll see what happens.- Top
