1966 Tach and speedometer cable service

Is it practical to attempt removing the speedometer and tach cables to lubricate without removing the instrument cluster?

Ken sure depending on how flexible you are I would remove the front seat. I use a small long handled channel lock type pliers. After loosening the knurled connector I use a screw driver to walk it loose. Then you can get your hand up there and finish spinning off. You may want to remove the handles for the vents for more access. It is a very annoying job. I just put my cluster back in this spring and cables were removes and replaced before I pulled it out

Bill, I will remove the seat and go for it. I appreciate your help.
      Thank you,
      Ken
