I am looking for some info on the rear lower control arm shaft nut 3742251 for a 1965 Corvette. Should this nut be copper flashed or is it Cad plated?

Ron------
I get conflicting finish information on the 3742251 nut. Both cadmium and "copper flash" are shown in GM-sourced information. So, it might take someone with an original 1963-65 to report in.
By the way, 1963-65 used a different nut than later. The 3742251 was a standard 9/16-18 hex nut used in combination with a split lockwasher. 1966-82 used a prevailing torque lock nut with, of course, no lockwasher. That nut was definitely dull zinc plated. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
