    Re: A Early '63 340/360 HP Question

Yup.... not surprised nor disappointed since supposedly both front fenders had also been replaced..... raced for a lot of it's early years according to previous (but not original) owners... that is where the original FI lore sprang from. I suspect that might be when the aftermarket radiator and Muncie tranny were slipped in along the way... along with ALL the undercarriage emergency brake gear having been removed (to lighten?!).

Regardless, it is what it is..... I wanted to create a great looking '63 "Soft Restomod" with a strong NCRS heritage and in my restoration I did just that.... conforming to a 340HP Carb/intake/exhaust with as many "little things" inside and out being "Correct". The awards I get indicates that folks enjoy that mix and so I am pleased that I achieved what I set out to create..... "Ruby"!!

One last question..... did the Early '63 340HP support have the same "Bump Outs", only sans the FI opening or were they like the "Replacement" version you pictured without the hole!!??

Thanks for the inputs folks and maybe I will someday be able to say for certain 340 or 360hp ...... until then, I have tons of fun and do what I can to "Save the Wave"..... smile.... Lenny

BTW..... after owning a '74 'vert for 28 years I decided to go modern and this is my C7...... LK

All '63 radiator supports have the bump outs.

Of course supports for FI applications have the opening for the FI air ducting.

Later supports have an opening on the passenger side for transmission oil cooler tubes and early ones don't. This includes late supports for FI applications, even though FI and PG weren't available together.

The picture I posted is for an early FI application.

Thanks Mike.... not interested in making it LOOK like it was factory.... won't Flight regardless..... just a question in my own mind about provenance of my Ruby..... VIN 30867S102786... and how she was really "Born".... smile....

BTW... lots of fun discussions with NON-NCRS folks about what is "Correct" and not correct..... they seemingly like the blend.....LK

                Re: A Early '63 340/360 HP Question

Trivia that goes back to 1965. As a kid I hung out at Grabiak Chevrolet in New Alexandria, PA. Just recently under new ownership.
I had two new 1965 Corvettes. Long story. One was ordered right doing the strike. WHich I think was Oct. It was a 365 HP and had no issues with the core support.
Now the point. In the summer of '65 I traded it in for new one sitting in the show room. LHP with AC. Major mistake. Sounded like a school bus.

Guess what it had for a core support!!! You guessed it. Had one for fuel injection. Car was not wrecked. Brand new. Go figure. John
