I heard a radio report, today, that it hit 123F yesterday in Palm Springs tieing an all time record. Don't worry, it's not climate change, global warming... whatever... just a three sigma temperature event. The whole southwest is hot due to a big high pressure dome. My place in Redondo Beach was only mid seventies due to a thin overcast in the morning and coming back in the late afternoon, and the same thing all day today... got some roof work done.

I am wondering how many brave folks will drive a C1, C2, or C3 to the meet.

A friend is driving his '67 L-71 Coupe from Palos Verdes - about a two hour drive. He's probably going to leave NLT 0400. He won a Duntov at Las Vegas in 2018 with a 97+, but wants a higher score. I'm coming out with a couple of other guys for the day on Wednesday.

There is a person from GA supposedly going to drive a 67. That takes a big set.

I’d hope he gets a lot of offers from guys here for any assistance he requires on the way. Given the heat expected, I-80, I-94 or the trans-canada route be might preferred over I-20 or I-40. A lot longer, but WAY cooler.

Suggest he put something that breathes between him and the seats. Also a cooler full of water. Is it a C60 car?

Having just driven my C60 car to Detroit and back in only 85 degree weather, I second the motion to put some sort of breathable material on top of the seats. REALLY

I drove the Mojave desert back in 1972 in an unairconditioned car with a black interior and black vinyl top. Left Kingman, AZ at 3 AM and rolled into San Bernardino, CA about 10AM. Best decision I ever made I avoided the hotest part of the day.
