    63 Fan clutch rebuilder

    Hey guys,

I purchased the correct Fan clutch for my 63 Fuelie build this weekend and it's in pretty good shape. I am doing a NCRS restoration and would like to know if anyone could recommend someone to restore this unit correctly and make it right for judging?

    Thanks in advance,
    Todd

Many people have been happy with.

Double Check, as far as I recall, the 63 clutch had two additional indentations

      Thanks Harry,

The guy had 3, the other two had the two holes on the back and he couldn't confirm which was correct, so I guessed wrong apparently... All other measurements were the same though. Is there anything in judging that could be detected since those two holes are hidden when installed?

PS, I just talked with Dan, very pleasant to talk to, and he confirmed that this was correct as well as the one you sent pictures of with the two countersunk holes in the flange. I appreciate the advice.

I wish the stencils were closer to the originals.
It's upside down for one thing.

Wow, yeah that is quite different. I wonder if those simple details are not important to the restorer, what else may be looked over?? I have mine boxed up and ready to send, I may rethink that.

What would be the purpose of the two counter sunk holes?

I have been told to store clutch fans straight up. Or as they are when installed. Is this true? John

I'm not sure what those holes are for, hopefully someone will advise us.

                    John,

I found these two photo on the web. I assume the clutch is stored horizontally inside the box, and the hub is up, as suggested by the 2nd photo. That’s how I have my restored original, and newer NOS stored.

If you do a Google search on “fan clutch storage”, you’ll find every orientation recommended by someone; most are just opinions.
