    FANTASTIC Customer Service - Al Knoch

    I purchased a complete (installation kit included) seat restoration kit from Al Knoch several months ago (also purchased a carpet set as well). I am installing the seat kit on to my refurbished seat frames - doing the seat bottoms - pulling the Figure 8 clips through the foam to connect to the wire on the bottom side of the foam - one clip broke - it literally just broke apart.

    This is not a gizmo that you can jury rig - the correct design clips are essential to the proper installation of the seats. You cannot by these clips individually, or even as a set - you have to buy a "kit" that contains a lot of hard ware, $36 + shipping. I need 1 clip.

    I called Al Knoch - spoke to a guy (Phillip) in the front office - I explained my problem - he asks, "how many would you like me to send to you" -- for free! Is that GREAT customer service or what!

    That said, I really am not surprised - I have run across all kinds of very considerate, helpful and generous people in the Corvette hobby / community.

        Ditto here. A few years ago I ordered custom pile carpet for my 1972. When it arrived, it was the 80/20 loop pattern. After a phone call, a pickup tag was sent and the carpet reshipped, only to be the same 80/20 style. The customer rep told me that she would personally select the third set and see it that was shipped. It arrived within a few days.

          Without a doubt, 5-6 years ago I ordered deluxe 63 red coupe door panels from them and there was an issue, they took them back, fixed the problem and delivered them back to me at the Old Town Regional a month later. IIRC it was Melanie that took care of it.

            Question for all, do we as members of the NCRS, get vendor discounts? I need to order carpet and seat covers from Al Knoch and just wondering. With high transport, taxes and US/CAN exchange, a discount helps!

                Can I assume based on no feedback, that we get no discounts from any Corvette vendors? Just imagine if we were able to obtain 10% discounts from selected vendors, how many more new members would sign-up to the National NCRS club???

                Question: How many members are in the NCRS clubs worldwide?

                Just asking since I spent my career in Engineering sales and had to deal with company buyers everyday. Now, we are on the other end and every dollar saved means we can improve our cars even further!
