    gold line tires

    It is time for new tires and steel rims for my 66 convertible. Any idea's for brand (I like Good Year), bias vs. radial and where to purchase.
    Thanks
    Mel

    Re: gold line tires

    I highly recommend gold line radials from Diamondback. I have been using a set for six years. Good luck, Don H.

        Assuming you want to drive the car the DB gold line radials are really outstanding. They just recently announced their new radial with the pie-crust edge that looks like a bias-ply - brand new molds. I installed them on my '65 about two months ago (think I was one of their first customers). The look, the ride are perfect.

                Start a new thread to post the original Excel file as an attachment, but change the file type to one that the TDB will accept, and in your post explain that in order to view the file the file type must be changed to the original type, xls, or xlsx after it's downloaded.

                  Use Diamond Back tires on classics and modern cars since the mid 90's without any issues. Every Coker tire developed sidewall cracks or tread separation - no more Cokers.

                    They have been out for a while I bought a set last year for my 66 Chevelle SS396. They are called Auburn premium tires. I like them. They ride very well and look great

                      Follow-up 1: You can convert the PDF file provided above to Excel file if you subscribe to Adobe Acrobat Export PDF ($24 per year). I have not done this, so not sure of full recovery of all Excel functionality.

                      Follow-up 2: Agreed, if you primarily want to drive and ride, the Diamond Back MX tire is probably your best bet, since they start with a genuineinside

                          I'm not at home so this is the best I can do for a picture - hope you can blow it up to see the tires. Again it's not the old style DB where they take a modern carcass, smooth off one sidewall and vulcanize the gold line. This is a new pie crust mold that only a few weeks ago became available (designed by DB from scratch) to which they apply the gold line. It's as close as you can get to having a bias-ply look radial tire.

                              [QUOTE=Gary Beaupre (28818);899915]Kent,

                              What DB size radial is closest to 7.75/15? The sizes in the DB pull-down choices are not what I’m used to seeing for radials.
