Question on the small allen bolt that holds the Side Miirror tp tje Base for C2's

Question on the allen bolt on the back side - lower - it attaches the mirror to the base. I noticed that my(66 Coupe)
original side mirror bolt "loosens a bit" every now and then. (Maybe once a month) I then have to retighten
it with the allen wrench. Car is not driven much but the driver side door is opened/closed a lot for maintenance.
Is this normal for C2's? I am hesitant on putting any
thread-locking fluid on the small bolt. Maybe the various temperatures(Illinois)has something to do with it?
Comments Please>Anybody else notice this? Thanks in advance>Larry

Loctite is your friend. There are different grades. For something like this I would use the low strength, Loctite 222, designed for smaller screws/removeable.

Thomas>Thanks for the reply. I see where Loctite 222 is offered in a tube or a small bottle. Which one is better
as far as preserving the fluid flow from the top and will not plug up? Larry

        Larry:
I'd buy the smallest size available, usually the small tube. A little goes a long way. And it has a shelf life. To improve shelf life, put it in a refrigerator, next to your favorite pops in your garage fridge!

That's what I tell my wife... Yeah, I need a fridge in my garage to keep my Loctite preserved! It has a shelf life and I don't want it to go bad!"
