    1965 AC Muffler Schrader Valve(s)

Would anyone happen to know what schrader valve(s) are used on a 1965 A-6 AC compressor muffler assembly? Were they or are they available? Does

I/we just started the process of purging, leak testing and filling my AC system (using R-12 refrigerant) and noticed a very small leak coming out of the inside valve of the muffler assembly. We've already replaced the o-ring without success. We suspect that the valve is bad and needs to be replaced.

Does anyone have information (part numbers, availability, service parts, common with other GM mufflers, etc)?
    Any/all help is greatly appreciated.

Aloha Ray, you may try contacting Dom Tallarita NCRS member in CA. (760)831-2095 Dom is very knowledgeable on these compressors. He restored my compressor and he does an excellent job. Good luck Tim

DOM is great. Chuck Nixon in Ft. Worth had his repaired before he sold his 365hp AC coupe. I know he can help if you get stuck. I can send contact if needed. He is a NCRS member.

          Ray,
I would think the valve is common. My son does have different ones, and yes he has a tool to change them without loosing pressure. Don't ask. I can never figure out that tool. He is not able to work as I said in our conversation. I am sure if you get it out it can be matched at a local shop or auto parts.

            Ray,
The valves on my A/C '69 needed to be replaced and I don't know if they are the same as on my '69 (I'll bet they are) and I just went to D & D Auto parts on Maple east of Rochester Rd and bought them to replace mine.
