It may be, but it works. I replaced the original one on 67 after 49 years and 85k miles of service, only because I had it all apart to remove the WW assembly and have it restored.

      Don,

Does the spacer/washer just sort of loop around and in between the two transmission rods, near the connection axis? The ID of the spacer is about 4x larger than the stubby shaft that the rods connect to.

Don't try to wrap it or loop it. Just put it on like a washer and be amazed at how well it does its job.
I thought my original was all stretched out, but after talking with the late John Hinckley, he told me that that is how it is assembled.

Here is a photo of the rubber washer installed on a 67. If you have access to the transmission system as shown in the photo, I'd recommend welding the short arms to the transmission studs. They were "staked" on from the factory and become loose from use. Welding eliminates the "slop" in this joint.

              Larry,

The same part number for the spacer, GM#3764098, appears in the 63 thru 67 AIMs, so we may be talking about different parts.

Gary, if you have the dash out as in my picture, you could just remove the wiper assemblies from the car and take them to a local welder. Welding them sure tighten up the "action" of the wipers in my car......

                    Stephen,

Fortunately, the dash is not out. And I hope not going to come out in my lifetime!

Gary, Looking at the photos on Corvette Centrals web sight , you might be able to find something close at Lowes or Home Depot.

                            Gary,

                            IMO, it's a cheap reproduction part! I don't think I've ever seen a original.

My thinking is the ID of the rubber washer you have fits over the OD of the brass bushing pressed on the drivers side transmission arm. Do you have that measurement?

Years ago we discussed this part and John Hinckley mentioned it's a hard fiber sort of washer. My 67 had never been touched and I could not find any remnants of the washer.
