    Re: Stamp Pad VIN Question

It is simply a place holder...no other significance.

Would have been a perfect place to add the engine option. 1>250 HP>2-300 HP and etc.. I guess it was just too
much work for Chevrolet/GM to do this even though all other manufacturers where doing this! SAD VERY SAD-Larry

On a AO Smith Trim Tag with a TRIM code of 443B, is the "B" an ECL code and what does it represent? I do not have a trim tag book to look it up.

          Thanks for the replies.

RE: Stamp Pad VIN Derivativeswhat did they do in 1964 when over 800,000 V-8 Impalas were built? One web source states: It looks like that would have been a 2nd and 3rd
            thx,

I agree with Mark using the 6 digits. It makes sense for Chevrolet to have all plants use the same VIN format. The plant had a letter code, like S to differentiate its VIN from another plant. Camaros made at Norwood and LA?
