Good day. Can anyone share their room rate for the event. I got the Hilton Garden Inn for $215. Seems rather high!

Hampton Inn is $220. Even worse is that I'll be alone so have to pay the full amount.

There's the room rate...then there is the recovery charges, service fees, charges accommodation tax, and sales tax. Yikes!

Happy New Year. Here’s a January 1st update on the upcoming Winter Regional. There’s about five week until registration closes. I plan to post one more update on February 1^st.
Pete Bergman has requested that a few early C6’s register as Special interest cars to be judged for collecting data for the upcoming C6 TIM&JG he is working on. So far, we only have one 2006 registered and would like to get a couple more. Please contact me if you’re interested.
Here's the list of the 52 cars that have registered so far:

• Flight Judge; 55, 56, 57, 60, 2-62’s, 63, 64, 3-65’s, 66, 8-67’s, 2- 69’s, 70, 2-71’s, 72, 75, 84, 93, 2-96’s, and 04.
• Concours; 2-67’s.
• PV; 53, 58, 63, 2-65’s, 01 & 03,
• American Heritage S.O.; 57 & 64
• Bowtie S.O.; 62 & 67
• Special interest; 2006
• Eight Sportsman

I’ve been contacted by five additional owners that are registering cars, a 77, a couple of C4’s a 65 and a 67. Even though 67’s has reached the eight-car cap I’ve been authorized to continue to accept more (sixteen car cap).

I have recently been assured that the NCRS BOD has no plans to cancel the event this year. And, Ron DeSantis, the Governor of Florida has announced several times that he has no plans to shut down the State of Florida. We have no mask mandate and no restaurant or hotel restrictions. So, come on down and enjoy the Sun n Fun.

Anyone who needs a room at the FL Regional's special rate, there are rooms available at the Staybridge Inn, 863-225-2886. It is located next to the Hilton Garden Inn at 3855 Don Emerson Dr. Rate is King $139 and 2Queens $149. Mention the NCRS Corvette Regional.

The question has been asked several times, yet there has been no answer provided. Will there be a one day gate fee for non-NCRS members that want to come in to just look at cars? Example: I am a long time member but my brother is not. What will the cost be for the one day?

Neither Paul S nor John B visit this DB very often. I suggest contacting them directly to get specifics about entry to the Sun & Fun facility for the meet. The question has been asked and answered several times. The Florida Chapter has never had a day pass in Lakeland. Each Regional is different. We would hope that NCRS members would support the local chapter by registering and participating. If a person is not a member of the NCRS they may walk through and look at the cars. This has been the policy since moving to Lakeland and will remain the policy since we cannot cover the many doors to Hanger D. John Buchheister , President FL Chapter and Lakeland event chairman.

This is Lynn Berus again looking for volunteers. Coach says they need someone to watch the vendor gate to make sure people have a vendor pass and are not just wanting to park on the field. We will furnish a chair, and some magazines, so you won't be as bored. if you would like to volunteer, but can't stand for longer periods, this would work for you. I know it doesn't sound too exciting but still needs to be done. If you can, I am hoping to get enough people to do morning and afternoon shifts so people aren't stuck there all day.

ROOMS for the Florida Regional Feb. 24 thru Feb 26 are still available . Rooms at the Fairfield Inn are $149 and$159. Call 813-757-6202. Fairfield Inn is at I-4 Exit 25 Country Rd. only 5 miles from Hanger D. Rooms are still available at the Hilton Garden Inn and Staybridge Inn for $155 and $165. Call 863-647-0066.
