Works perfect on L&R turns but hard to find center spot manually. Is there a detent for center, mine is just guessing. Thanks Ed

Re: 1962 turn signal manually cancel
Yes - there is a leaf spring that centers the mechanism...sometimes its missing or needs shimmed;
here is more info in the first document, this refers to a 60 but a 62 should be the same.
If you decide to dig into it - the first 3-4 pages in the second document will show you how.- Top

Yes that flat leaf spring is what centers the mechanism. There are tabs on the back of the rotating ring that keep it centered. Lube the contact points for smoother operation.- Top

Re: 1962 turn signal manually cancel
Often, the two pins that the flat spring rest on wear slightly, but sufficiently that the turn signal does not return to center. The fix is small brass sleeve (tubing) to fit over those pins. If all else fails and you can't find the information, I have the dimension needed for the brass sleeves somewhere. I had to make a pair for a car I worked on.- Top

THe goal is to increase the tension the spring applies to the actuator by one means or another.- Top
