Re: Bob
Yup. Sad news. Met him at Autobooks in Burbank when he was doing a book signing for his autobiography. Even though he got his greatest fame as a driver while working for the chicken farmer from Texas, like a lot of races back then, got his start in Corvettes: https://www.autoweek.com/news/people...ctor-has-died/- Top

Re: Bob
Yes, he was a great racer and man. I will always treasure the memories of him judging my cars at our Santa Fe Concorso events, and the many road tours with him and his lovely wife, as well as Stirling Moss. He even caught a ride in my '67 Corvette once, for old times sake. He will be missed.

Re: Bob
One of the more amazing moments in Corvette racing history, at the 1967 24 Hours of Le Mans, Bob and Dick Guldstrand would be co-drivers of a ;67 L-88 prepared by Dana Chevrolet. The car was flown into Paris and when they got there they realized, "We don't have a trailer! How do we get to Le Mans?" They DROVE the race prepped L-88 on French public roads down to Le Mans.
Guldstrand picks it up from there:
Decades later, Guldstrand still cherishes the memories of his Le Mans adventure.
