I notice that when closing the passenger side door with hard top in place, the top of the door post forces the hardtop to move up approximately 1/8" up from its resting place on the top of the windshield frame. This is clearly evident even though the passenger side hard top latch is tightly clamped down. In looking at the assembly manual and the service manual I do not see evidence that the door post can be adjusted down as it appears to be flat on the door top surface. Is there a procedure to stop the post from hitting the hardtop?

Note this windshield is PPG (replacement). Any issues with installation?

Re: C1 Door Post Assembly
I believe windshield was replaced in the 70's so no knowledge of install issues. Are you suggesting that the windshield is too low and must be shimmed up as possible solution?- Top

Take a look at your A.I.M. Section "B" Instrument Panel Trim & Windshield. Only AIM I have is for 1957, but it shows rubber spacer (3724126?) getting a sealant(?) under both sides of bottom windshield trim.

Re: C1 Door Post Assembly
A couple of things - first - you can adjust the post in/out (e.g. side-to-side) and the "cant" a bit, but if you get too agressive you can chip the paint around the bottom where it mees the door on the outside. It might be worth to see if your windshield moves back and forth if you grab the frame and rock it. If so, the windshiled pillar tabs are broken (a common problem) which prevents the windshield from being in a consistent position,
Also, you always latch the driver's side first (if you don't already know), as its a "hole" where the pin goes, whereas the passenger side pin "floats" into a slot in the header and seeks its own position- Top
