EVERY spec of those carbon deposits will come out with gentle use of an SOS pad and some OOOO fine steel wool with lots of water and patience. Please try that before restoring that nice looking original lid.....you'll thank me when you're done. Trust me..Be well....ARA- Top

One Key point - LABELS
You will not find NOS 1966 labels in the original construction.
By the early to mid 70s the technology had changed, printing on paper.
No mylar
No foils on primitive plastic films as in the 65 396 labels.- Top
