    67 Squeak

I wanted to ask if anyone is experiencing a squeak at the back of a 67
car is restored and I checked all bolts with torque wrench
maybe some comments or recommendations would be appreciated

    Re: 67 Squeak

Enzo, I had a squeak in the back (driver side) of my restored 65 roadster.
After many tries, I added a shim to the mounting bolt behind the driver position
on the body and it leveled the door which eliminated the squeak. Its a bit
of work, but after two years, I got rid of the annoyance.'

If a coupe check all the plastic window trim and make sure the screws are tight.

Be careful tightening the plastic trim on a coupe, it could crack.

Or the screw holes will be stripped

I would vote for Jamie's suggestion. I had a similar problem due to at least one body mount not having any shims.

                    Hi Enzo,

Carefully check the stainless steel moldings all around the back window. Mine developed a squeak that turned out to be caused by one of the molding clips breaking, allowing the molding to pop up (out) a bit and rub against the body when going over any kind of bump. Push down on the moldings all around the window to ensure these are held tight and not causing a squeak.

Let us know what you find.

Also check the clearance on your rear exhaust extensions.

The squeak is when you drive not over bumps

In my case it was repo spring liners -- too hard I think. After they wore it it went away --- at least in warmer weather. Still squeaks some in colder temps.
