    Headlight Actuator

Here is a picture of the internal boot and the actuator piston. The boot looks a little dirty to me.

Bob Demmel rebuilds and restores these.
He can make them look and function like new, or leave the patina if you wish.

There is a much larger diaphragm internally that ruptures and/or tears causing the low pressure. I sent my 78s to Demmel, kept the aged patina, rebuilt and now those suckers pop! He sent the diaphragm back and, sure enough, it was that tear that I missed and too often when troubleshooting the cause of low actuator pressure.

It does look like the diaphragm is leaking down. This can be repaired without damaging the exterior finish of the actuator.

Just pulling your chain. Good luck on your other headlight actuator.
