I went into registration for Louisiana Regional and registered my 85 for Sportsman. Then entered my 90 for PV. Here's the pop-up text, complete with mis-spellings:

"It is not allowed to attemp any other award when you have already subscribed for a Sportsman Display. Please remove any other award attemps (for this or any other car) for this event."

I was right. The System won't allow you to register for any other award if you have selected Sportsman.
Good you did that Dave. Now I know why I couldn't bring my 1970 for display at the 2020 French Lick National when I registered my 2008 for Sportsman. Force Majeure caused that issue to go away, both in my mind and in reality, and I had forgotten about it until I saw this post. And now I know the rest of the story. Thank you. Dave,
Thank you for the experiments and the results report.
Your original take on the rules was indeed correct!
Is it just me, or does this exclusion seem like it's discouraging participation?
My understanding is that the Sportsman Award was meant to further the goal of having Corvettes driven to meets.
To me, this rule basically says, "If you're already having a car judged, we now don't care if you drive your other Corvette or not."
Doesn't seem very welcoming, does it?
Looks like I'll have a question for the next Town Hall Meeting at a regional, or perhaps a "Meet the Team Leaders" seminar at the national convention...

This rule has never stopped me from driving my Corvette to meets if I could. I drove my '19 ZR1 to Palm Springs as part of the Texas Road Tour, and shipped 3 to be judged. No problem, I will probably do that again too.

          Mike,
Which begs another interesting question: did you already have 20 points before the Las Vegas convention?
According to what we've learned here, no Sportsman registration or points would have been available then, since your black '64 was being Flight Judged.

Yes, I had 20 points before the 2018 national. The plaque was awarded to me then. I never even tried to register for Sportsman and Flight judging at the same meet, since I was never driving any of the flight judged cars to a meet, only trailering them, and since I was driving a truck, I couldn't drive a Corvette at the same time.......

Just a quick reminder, that if a member does meet the Sportsman requirements, said plaque will be sent to the most recent NCRS Chapter this member joined. Which in some cases, may not be said members "Home" based NCRS Chapter. This receiving NCRS Chapter, will be responsible for the payment of this plaque as well.
