1966 L72 wiring headlight harness at alternator and TI module question.

Good day All. Changing out my wiring harnesses on my 1966 L72 and currently doing the front end, pretty much plug and play but have a question around the Alternator and left parking light wiring around TI amp.

Alternator: Wire harness has an integrated clip in it that looks like it would slip nicely in the back of the alternator but hesitant to do so as 1) assembly manual does not show it and 2) don't want to cut off a cooling port for the alternator.
I initially had it in the alternator hole but after looking at assembly manual took it out. It seems like it would fit perfectly and make the wires lay properly but don't want to do it without confirmation. Also wondering why GM would put this clip in the harness if it was not supposed to be inserted somewhere. (see attached pictures.)

Left parking light wiring: When I purchased the car about 10 months ago, I noticed in the left wheel well the parking light grommet was not in place and would not stay in. After changing out the wiring harness I know why. Seems like the TI module sits so close to the hole where the left parking light wiring grommet/connector goes it conflicts with the TI amp. As a matter of fact, a lot going on there. TI amp, left headlight bucket harness, left parking light harness all connect around same area and main harness has to follow the curvature of the car, so very crowded. Was wondering if anybody had any ideas how this all worked together to make it work/flow smoothly.

Thanks, and any ideas are appreciated.

Your drawing shows the plastic clip inserted into the hole next to the red wire item 1.

The white nub in the wiring harness DOES go into the hole you're showing on your alternator.

As to your second question, as the harness goes over the top of the radiator support, things get pretty tight. There should be a clip on the radiator support that holds the harness in place. I don't have TI on my car but I can only imagine that it adds to the enjoyment of keeping things tidy in there.

Thanks Leif. Great picture. It looked to perfect not to go there, thank you for confirming it. Cheers. Mark
