    66 seat belt retractor tag

    I have a question on 66 seat belt retractor tags that are reproduced and sold . There is no mention in the judging guide about them so are they needed when having the car judged . seems like it would be a little difficult to wire them to the retractor . Any info or a picture would be great

          Bob- According to the 1966 AIM, the seat belt retractor tag was removed on 11-26-65.
          (actual production line changes can be before or after that date)
          If you have a 66 BEFORE the the design change, I see no reason why a tag would NOT be present.

          BTW- There are indeed differences in the REPRO seat belt retractor tags...
          Some small (text CAPS), while others are glaring (missing text & bad redesigns).

              Bob- These images come from the 1965 AIM... the bottom photo gives an idea of the tag position.
              And Dave had a good alternative, of placing the tag(s) with your glove box literature.
              NOTE: Some claim there was only ONE tag (passenger side)... other say TWO.

                  My car was built oct 11th so it would apply . I like the idea of putting them in the glove box with the other info ,
                  also by the pictures Jack supplied it looks like i have the better repro ones.
