    1970 Wiper Motor Nuts 3857243

    The Judging Guide calls for the 3857243 nuts connecting the wiper motor to the firewall to be zinc-plated nuts with integral washers. I have found a vendor selling this nut with an integral star washer that is zinc. I have found several vendors selling this nut with a large concave washer with a yellow chromate finish. What is correct for this nut?

      The GM #3857243 nut had a captive conical washer and was phosphate finished.

      By the way, I cannot find that it was ever available in SERVICE from GM.

          Allen, I think those are a #10-24 thread. AMK shows an assortment of them.

                  I placed an order with AMK. Had to order quite a few to get to the AMK $30 minimum.
