1971 LT-1 Fuel Line Support Bracket original?

    Hi Folks,
I am a brand new NCRS member and first time Corvette owner in Los Gatos, CA.

I have a 1971 LT-1 and am curious about the Fuel Line support bracket. I know the LS-6 version is different, but I'm wondering if mine is aftermarket, as given the other threads i researched here, it should have "Stamp Rite" etched into it.

Here it is - what do you think?

From what I can see in the pic you posted, I would say that it is an original.

Thanks for looking at it Ron, it certainly does seem like its the right color, and its been there a while. I can only guess that if it was replaced, it was done a long time ago.

A couple of things. First, they all had the “Stamp Rite” logo on them. Second, there is no finish because the bracket’s finish is natural. Third, this was not an item that you could’ve went to Chevrolet and bought one over the counter. It was never available as they only came on cars on the assembly line.
              Ron------

The bracket was once available in SERVICE but it was discontinued without supersession a very long time ago, probably when the initial manufacturing run ran out. I can't look up the date of discontinuation right now as I'm travelling away from home. My vague recollection, though, is that it was in the mid-70's.

Thanks Ron and Joe - Great background on this specific part. Reason I am doing this is to try to determine if there are any missing parts on the car.

                IMG_6395-Sharp.jpg

I've included another picture of the part - but it really doesn't look like there's a stamp rite on it. I haven't tried to clean the patina to see if it might be beneath.

I also have this album of the car, I'm just checking all of the parts to see if there is any reason to believe it was not originally an LT-1.

It has CGZ block, TI system (removed but I have it), no overflow on the radiator, correct shift plate etc.

The Stamp Rite logo Ron referred to is attached. The current reproductions are zinc plated, so they don't rust like originals.
Original GM part number was 3959444, the finish was bare metal, natural.
I've seen some stamped on the opposite side over the years.

                      Hi Gary,

I managed to get a picture of the rear of the bracket. It's stamped with something - but doesn't look like STAMP RITE

What do you make of it?

That looks like a PR inside a triangle. Paragon Reproductions.

Sure must be. Must have been added back from an earlier restoration.

I looked through your album. Nice car, and pretty correct. Your camera seems to have a gas tank fixation.😀. Water pump is incorrect, and balancer bolt and washers being orange stand out, but otherwise it is either an original LT-1 or a clone done by someone very knowledgeable. Would love to know dates on carb, starter, etc. Alternator looks right! Again, nice car!
