'67 factory AC battery access panel seal

Did they use any w/s glue to attach the battery access panel seal on '67 AC cars? There is a small U shaped piece of weatherstripping at the top of the access panel. How was it attached? Thanks.

Garry, The AIM shows no sealant, but a bit of black w/s adhesive would be my choice.

Rich, I didn't see any sealant in the AIM either, but was thinking a bit that is undetectable wouldn't hurt. Maybe that's why you don't see the seal on many of the cars. Thanks.

Best fitting and looking seal is from Doc Rebuild. He uses PSA (pressure sensitive adhesive) on the seal for holding it in place. Invisible when installed.

Thanks Larry. I can apply a little adhesive to ensure it stays and do it without it showing. Thanks.

I just installed a proper battery in my '65 A/C car, and the dum-dum is the best. But what a PITA that job is.
