I'm going to have to replace my windshield soon, looking for an installer who will get the depth right, no gaps between the glass and trim. I've seen videos where the installer dry fit the glass using rubber blocks to get the depth right. Once that was known, they used a damming strip as the factory did.
I've asked Corvette Connection and Corvette Center. Neither will guarantee a fit without gaps. One uses butyl strips, the other a bead of urethane?
Does anyone know of another installer in the CT, MA, NY area who may take the time to fit the glass, guarantee to get the depth right? Has anyone had a windshield installed by either of the two shops I mentioned, satisfied with the result?
