No luck with adjusting the spring loaded hood catches? Possibly switching them from one side to the other and adjusting them?

Mike,
Are the springs "reproduction" springs? If so, they are too stiff.
When I did the frame off on my '65, I bought a pair of repro springs from Paragon and "tried" to use them.
After countless hours of trying, I could never get my hood to close and latch properly until I put my original springs back on.
My hood now closes like a charm.

Just to clarify, you are refering to the springs on the hood latches on the hood or on the hood catches on the firewall?
