    1963 Power Windows

Can someone with a 1963 and power windows take a picture(s) of their circuit breaker(s) that are on the left side pillar just above and in front of the vent? I want to see if the pw harness, the cigarette lighter and the up/down headlight switch are all on the same terminal? The other terminal should hold the power window wire coming out of the fuse block. Just looking for the correct configuration.

    Thanks

Thanks for these. However, I'm looking for pictures of the circuit breakers and how the wires are attached. Specifically, the pw wire to the fuse block and the pw harness, the headlight up/down switch along with the cigarette lighter

      Thanks
      Jerry

The one you're showing is for the power windows, there is a second breaker for the headlight motors located above the "Z" bar. See picture below borrowed from Buns. Top square hole is for the headlight motors breaker and the lower square hole is for the power window breaker.

Having wired my power windows as pictured in Edward's post #4, should my windows operate without the use of the key?

Yes, no key needed. It's a safety issue. In an emergency you need to get the window open.

Thanks for your attention to my Power Window inquiry! Why then was phrase "Electrically operated windows will not function with the ignition key in the off position" added to TIM&JG 7th edition, Operations #29, when it was not mentioned in 6th edition?

Paul, there are a number of items in the new JG that are being questioned. As I understand the new 63/64 Team Leader, Joe Scafidi, is looking into these items. Might I suggest you send Joe an email. His contact information can be found above under the Contacts Link.

Paul, No need for an Email about this. We have already corrected the issue. 63 & 64 Power windows should work off Battery Power. The key position has no bearing on its function.

                    Regards, Joe
