Hard to assess the economics without seeing the car. Biggest concern is doghouse and frame rust. Second question is market value... Is there a market value history for astronaut cars?

Given its history, it would be great to save the car if possible.

Danny Reed could certainly chime in, he owns three Astronaut Corvettes. The shipping report would be a great start for $40.00.

If it has the provenance, I’d imagine it’s worth a reasonable amount in any condition, and would be a restoration candidate in ‘almost’ any condition. Great project either way. Best of luck acquiring it.

I believe the Astronaut Corvettes seem to have differing values depending on the astronaut and the mission it was associated with (the Apollo seeming to be the most sought after), but for C3 corvettes, there was a 1968 tri power owned by Alan Shepard that sold for over $300,000 earlier this year at Barrett Jackson, so that is at least one that I am aware of and I think this car would have been around the same timeframe. I can’t find any pictures of it though.
