    Re: RIP Rick Twining

What a shock! I always took time to talk to Rick at every event we were both at. The Rick and Mike team for 63/64 mechanical were second to none. Rick had a log/note book that had every conceivable detail, usually with pictures, for all 63/64 mechanical. Great notes on original vs reproduction parts. I had been trying to get him to make me a copy. RIP Rick!!

This is such sad news and sad circumstances. It puts things into perspective, life is so short. I was so sorry to hear this news.

All of you have said such kind words about Rick. Judging with Rick (and Cathy) over the past decades has certainly been a joy. There are certain people in this world, that no matter what your mood or the situation, that can immediately put a smile on your face. Rick Twining was one of those people. I've spent countless hours over the past 30+ years talking and laughing with Rick. I will miss him immensely!

                    Rest in Peace my friend!

Rick was always in a good mood at these meets. He was always willing to share his knowledge and secrets when I would judge with him. He came to my house when I had bought the Z06. He was in his element and loved to show me things about the car. What a great guy! I will certainly miss Rick at the NCRS meets.

My thoughts and prayers to Cathy, Rick's family and friends. R.I.P

I have judged with Rick on the 63/4 team for many years. Rick had a vast library of C2 photos and notes and encyclopedic knowledge of these cars that he was more than willing to share. I remember one time that Rick realized he had made a mistake while judging a 63 FI unit after judging was done for the day. He sought out the owner and apologized profusely, he was passionate about his work. We ran into Rick Thursday afternoon at the Kruse center and invited him to dinner with us. Rick was in a great mood at dinner and kept us entertained with his Corvette stories and laughter. He was looking forward to judging on Friday. Little did I know that when we parted with a casual see you tomorrow that it would be the last time I would talk to him. It is a great loss for Kathy, his family and the NCRS. RIP my friend.
