    1969 L36 A.I.R. Hoses

The part number in the AIM (Sheet L36 - A5) matches the number in the TIM&JG (6th Edition, page 163) for the right hose - 3946007. However for the left hose, the numbers do not match. The AIM part number is 3591358 and the TIM&JG indicates that 3951353 is ink stamped onto the hose. Can someone explain this difference?

In this case I think the AIM is in error. 3591358 is a member of a series of part numbers that I cannot find were ever released. On the other hand, 3951353 is consistent with a 1968 or 1969 released Chevrolet Division part number. By the way, neither 3951353 or 3946007 were ever available from GM in SERVICE. So, how did GM expect that the hose could be replaced if required? Well, there was once available bulk hose specific for AIR systems. It was GM #413480. So, you bought a 10 foot roll and cut it to length. While some small blocks required a molded hose on one side, big blocks did not require molded hose.

According to a friend of mine who manufactures and sells many classic Corvette parts and who has original GM blueprints for many of these products, this is the information he provided regarding the OP's question...and, he has them available for sale.

If the Doc says the 3591358 existed, then it existed. Period.
