Gas Tank Sending Unit Installation???

I am getting ready to reinstall my gas tank in my '65 coupe. Is there any installation clearance problems if I install the sending unit in the tank before I install the tank back in the car? The body is on the frame, all bumpers and frame brackets are removed.

I know on a coupe that the gas tank filler neck can't be installed until the tank up in position.

With the body on the frame, the tank needs to be rotated into position. I would not risk damaging the sender pipe doing this, you are really not accomplishing anything that is worth taking that chance especially if you have an original sender IMO.

This what I was thinking also. I have plenty of room and the correct tool to reinstall the sending unit. Just wanted to get some other opinions.
