Actually sounded like a flat…the slower you go the sound slows up (gets louder) but still a clunk with each rotation of the tire. Pulled the wheel…checked the brakes, wobble the wheel side to side and hand rotated….no clunk. Anyone experienced this….first thought is rear bearings or half shaft universal….thoughts??

The most likely fault is failing half shaft u-joints. You may find that you're able to "pour" the needle bearings out of the bearing caps.
