    Re: 65/66 Hazard Flasher

    Hello Don,

Bubba had also cut my V74 Traffic Hazard Flasher switch's orange wire too way back when. A couple of years ago I ran across a damaged 105 Y133 unit just like my '66 original shown here. Everything shown here is original to my '66 except the orange wire. That came from the salvaged unit but I'm pretty sure this wire is correct since it came from the same model flasher unit. Not an exact science by any stretch of the means but these photos should give you and your friend an idea of the original wire and plug overall length.

    Take care,
    Mike

By the way, the one my friend bought is exactly the same as yours, including the Y133 stamped on the cover.

          Good Morning Don,

I'm hoping other '66 Corvette owners with option V74 will also share orange wire measurements here. And I'm also curious if the '66 Corvette used only model 105 Y133 switch units that year or were others used? I know of two other models out there. I've seen 105 Y79 and 105 Y113 also. Don't know of their origins yet. Corvette or strictly passenger models?

Here's some shots of a complete '66 Corvette V74 setup to include the parking brake handle that was for sale a while back. I passed on it since I had all of it except the orange wire. Notice that Bubba spliced into this one as well. I'm posting these shots since it appears that the orange wire was simply unsheathed and not cut completely through. So these shots should also help you and your friend visualize the length of this original 105 Y133's orange wire.

          Mike
