Gary, I want to clarify one point- I do not own the 1971 that I was able to photograph. However, every other part appears to be original that I could see, e.g., Alternator and the Distributor has the correct band. The trim tag is correct, and I feel that that the hose is correct, and it is a base model.

OK you guys, somebody take this 3946852 upper hose that Paragon sold my customer for their 72 LT1 w/AC and they never picked up. Still in the box, as it were. First $30 PayPal gets it shipped to their house. Scott Fogaley@sbcglobal.net

Guys, I don't know if this is of any help, but the hoses on the C4's have a date code underneath.
This is off my 1995 that has a build date of August 4th, 1994.
By the way, the hose number does not exist anywhere as it was of such a short run. However, the three-letter code on the hose is the one listed on the build sheet.

For all who are concerned. I just pulled my original upper radiator hose that I took off my 1971 LT-1. It has been stored in room temperature since 1977. The car's vin is 4504, build date 12/18/70, and its part number is: 3946852 JP. Under the part number is GM AU. It is in excellent condition.
