    69 L71 tranny/differential question

I have a 69 L71 which has a M21 tranny and a 3.36:1 posi differential. Someone told me the lowest ratio differential you could get with a close ratio tranny is the 3.55:1. Does anyone know if this is true? I was under the impression my car was all original but if this is true then I am disappointed.
    Thanks

    Dave,

According to my 1969 early edition sales brochure info, the 1969 L71 was offered with a 3.36 ratio as an "economy" option with the M21 transmission. Positraction required. Standard was 3.55, with additional options of 3.70 (performance) and 4.11 (special).

Yes, a 3:36 rear axle was available with the M21 in an L71
