Rear frame support plates

Can anyone tell me anything about these welded on plates on top of the rear rails of my frame, the car is a 69 400 hp conv.
Appreciate the help.

car ever had a roll bar in it?

I really doubt it. I did find this picture on a couple of high hp cars on BAT. Is there a correlation?

Paul, While not an expert in this area, I'm pretty sure the picture you posted immediately above is depicting the shim pack for adjusting the driving angle of the driver's and passenger's seat backs.

As Bill said, those are shims for the seats. Not sure why your car has those tabs.

Bob, from the picture I can't tell if the holes are threaded. Also, I do not see the holes for the rivets.
