    '71 Clutch Disc Recommendation

    Looking to replace a 1971 &LT1 clutch disc (11" with 26 spline input) . . . .

In today's ever changing "friction" material world, is there a "street" performance clutch disc (possibly kevlar or other?) made disc that someone can recommend or "avoid."

I know there are previous threads on this question, but, not very recently. Just wondering if there's any "new" news out there.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: '71 Clutch Disc Recommendation

I have a kevlar impregated clutch disk done by my rebuilder about 10000 miles ago. I find that it is of superior quality and trouble free. I will go back to get another on my other autos as the need arises. My rebuilder is Clutch Exchange in Denver, Co.

Ray, Several years ago I was fortunate enough to buy an original NOS clutch/disk. However, I know that does not answer your concern but there are many aftermarket clutch/disc there far superior than the OE.

I meant to mention that it is in a closet still in the GM box.
