67 Roadster Hard top Only Car

I have a roadster that never came with the folding soft top as per the order copy. Soft top only cars didn't have the holes drilled through the deck lid.. Do hard top only cars come with the chrome latches for the soft top pin securement? Are the holes still cut out if the chrome wasn't used?

Do you know if the holes are in the deck lid for the chrome latch?

somebody installed a soft top years ago, so my deck lid has both mounting locations..

      Thank you...

Shawn, I have the same dilemma as you, hardtop only as per the tank sticker but latches for a soft top but no soft top in place. I have two choices; remove latches, repair and repaint the deck lid or find a soft top frame/top and install.

My 66 soft top only car has the threaded side mount inserts for a hardtop on the deck lid. Do all convertibles come with them? There is no sign of hardtop holes being filled in on the deck.

Bill, what probably happened is someone installed a hardtop on your car and only drilled the side mount bolts. This setup is not uncommon when a hardtop is added.

              Shawn,
I also have an all original 67 Hardtop only car. There are no latch holes in the deck lid, only the 2 holes for the hardtop pins. I read somewhere an article from John Hinckley that hardtops came to the plant with no holes and they were drilled and prepped according to the build sheet.
