    Re: '63 4657 Fuel Pump

Robert, A '63 does NOT have a frog pad pump.
That nickname was started by yours truely and Robert Jorjorian years ago. I think it was back in 2008 or so.

A "Frog Pad pump typically has a stamped number of 4657 with two letters after it. Like 4657 FF etc.
I don't know about the seam? John

This is an NOS pump, dated January 1964. I did change the rubber in case I need to install it.

Harry, NOS SR for a '63. Frog pads.
Story about Frog Pads. My '63 was being judged at Marlborough for the first time. I forgot the exact year. Before judging started Carlton came up to me and asked what I was talking about on the pumps. I explained it to him and later to others.
What's so unique about your pump harry is no suffix after the 4657.
            See you at Carlisle. John

              Re: '63 4657 Fuel Pump

At Carlisle and a vender has two NOS 4657 pumps for sale. I think the first pic shows a pump with "frog pads" and stamped 4657 GF. Remainder of pics show what I believe is a correct 4657 pump, but I can't read the date. Was looking for one for my April '63 car. Wants $550.00 each. Just wondering what everyone thinks and if a fair price.

Last pic in previous post is the bottom of the "frog pads" pump. Have included in this post a couple of other pics of the non "frog pads" pump.

Okay...What do the lilly pads or frog pads look like on the #4657 fuel pump? I have a 63 300 hp car and I'm looking for the correct pump?

                  Thanks

This is correct for 63 without the "frog pads"

Thanks Robert. It doesn't mention anything in the JM about the Lilly Pads either way.

Yes, you are correct, I just checked. The JM also shows 4 screws on the bottom section and that is incorrect, should only be 2.

It will in the next revision. The big problem is the part with the date code is screwed onto the main casting. So someone could make a Frog Pad pump with a 63 dated center section. I don't believe we have ever seen one with that configuration on an original unrestored car?
