57 without a factory radio, dash insert plate ?

Little confused here. Most people say the (radio delete plate) plate HAS to be the one with just a horizontal bar, NOT the star type. 56-7 judges manual states the one with the star MAY have been used.(There is a pic in the manual.)

Looking in The Noland Adams vol. 1 book it shows a supposed factory 57 car with the star ?
Does anyone have any knowledge in this area ?

Also it states that some late 56s had the radios with script wonder bar and some early 57s have the radios without the wonder bar script on the bar. (makes sense to me)
    Thanks Robert

Robert, My 57, Vin#3745 came with the star plate. It was a 270 hp, heater and windshield washers delete. As you might know when you find a 57 with an AQ rearend (4.56 Posi) the assumption could be sure it was a drag race vette. I even found the time slips in the center console. Car was raced in No Calif from 57-72. It also came with a 3 spd trans.
