I just became the owner of a 1959 Corvette and new member to NCRS. I have purchased and started looking through the 58-60 NCRS Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide. I see under document services that the C1 era Corvettes are not available. Where would I start to find the history of this car and what options it would have had when it rolled off the assembly line? I have found that it is a May 1959 baby, but that is about it. Vin J59S107700

Re: New C1 Owner - Not Sure Where to Start
Welcome Jay,
Nice looking car, congratulations on your new car. No matter what your end vision is for your car, I highly recommend obtaining Corvette Servicing Guide , ST-12 it will prove a wealth of knowledge. (Available through NCRS store) Covers all the c- 1 generation quite well. Refer to it often.

Re: New C1 Owner - Not Sure Where to Start
Thank Leo for the serving guide suggestion; I just ordered it. There is a lot of things missing and not right so having these references is going to be a bg help. I have already ordered and received the Technical and Judging manual, which is where I have found some things just aren't right.
I look forward to digging into the knowledge available on this site this winter as I get started on this car.- Top

Re: New C1 Owner - Not Sure Where to Start
WELCOME to the Corvette world. There is no way to tell what came originally from the factory when it was built. There are clues if parts are original but even there were no paint/ trim codes on the Corvette to tell colors only VIN. Starting in 1963 trim tags were added.65 350 TI CONV 67 J56 435 CONV,67,390/AIR CONV,70 454/air CONV,
